WaterEquity.org’s web server recognizes the domain name (IP address) of the machine or device that connects with or browses our Site. Similar to other websites, we use “cookies” and server logs to collect information about how our Site is used. A cookie is a very small piece of data placed on the hard drive of your device. It often includes an anonymous unique identifier. When you visit a website, that site’s computer asks your computer for permission to store this file in a part of your hard drive specifically designated for cookies. Cookies by themselves cannot be used to find out the identity of any user. You can turn the cookie features off by using your browser’s preference options, but you may not be able to utilize some of our services properly.

We use Website User Information to gather feedback about the use of our Site to improve it and better serve our mission. When you visit our Site, we use “cookies” (described above) to differentiate you from other visitors. In some cases, the cookies help us recognize you as a return visitor or existing member of our online community. Cookies, in conjunction with our server log files, allow us to calculate the aggregate number of people visiting this Site and which parts of the site are most popular.
There are “do not track” or similar browser choices available to internet users with respect to online activity, but given the present lack of consensus of what constitutes an informed election, appropriate trigger or breadth of scope of such choice, our site will continue to operate as described in this Policy, whether or not a “do not track” signal is received.
