Mónica Altamirano serves as WaterEquity’s Director, Climate Impact. She leads the integration of climate and water resources management principles into investment decisions and identifying policy changes to enable increased investment in water. She brings 18 years of expertise in water, climate, and Private-Public Partnerships (PPPs).
Prior to working with WaterEquity, Monica worked as a PPP specialist for the Netherlands water institute, Deltares, and as advisor water and climate finance to the Netherlands government International Water Affairs team.
Mónica holds a PhD in Economics of Infrastructures and a MSc in Systems Engineering, Policy Analysis and Management from Delft University of Technology. Currently, she is an honorary Senior Researcher at Delft University of Technology, Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management.
