Amit Agarwal is responsible for identifying investment opportunities across South & Central Asia, including conducting due diligence, structuring investment terms, and monitoring WaterEquity’s investment portfolio in financial institutions. He brings 12 years of experience in corporate banking, relationship management, and credit/ risk.
Prior to joining WaterEquity, Amit was instrumental in setting up the NBFC coverage vertical in IDFC FIRST Bank, and managed significant asset book spread across non-banking financial corporations, microfinance institutions, housing finance corporations, and financial technology for businesses and/or consumers (Fintech) in his role as a Regional Head. Additionally, he represented the Bank in stressed clients’ forum and regulatory audits. Prior to IDFC, Amit worked with CRISIL Ratings wherein he analyzed, identified risks, and rated various structured investment products across multiple asset classes and future flow transactions.
Amit received a Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the then Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Delhi University. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
